As a direct result of Covid-19 restrictions last summer, and going outside with yoga classes, we are again honouring the yoga in nature theme with Yoga Under the Oaks.

Every Monday in July, except July 12, a class will be offered from 4:30 - 5:45 pm for those on Salt Spring Island.

It is a drop-in class, in the sense that we all have different and often open schedules for the summer and we need a freedom of flow. For this reason, I am not able to offer a weekly class on Monday, July 12, as I will be away.


A full slate of class types will be offered again in the fall. For now, Yoga Under the Oaks is an Every Body Yoga class.

Mellow Morning yoga class is a mat class with a slower pace and less demanding poses than the Every Body Yoga class.

Chair Yoga class is suitable for people recovering from or living with the consequences of an injury, chronic condition, or people with limited flexibility or strength. The chair serves as a great prop for enabling a yoga practice.  The class includes both sitting and standing poses.

Every Body Yoga class gives opportunities to do more or to do less in any given class to tailor it to your specific practice needs and abilities. For many poses, options are offered for less rigour or more, options to do a flow or take a resting pose, and options to move and breathe at a slower or faster pace, as it suits your body.

These are Hatha yoga classes with a strong influence from Akhanda Yoga. In Akhanda Yoga, each class sequences chanting, asana, breathwork (pranayama), and meditation with an interlay of yoga science and anatomy.


If you are coming to Yoga Under the Oaks for the first time, please contact me for the directions and location map.

Additionally, you are kindly requested to fill out a health questionnaire and agree to a waiver of release. If you have done so in the last 2 years and your health and fitness have not changed in any significant way, this is not required. There will also be a specific waiver of release on-site under the oaks. 


For the Yoga Under the Oaks, payment is by donation. Drop-in is welcome.
